New Mexico Alpaca Breeders member meeting at Aspen Ridge
Alpacas, Jemez Springs. Featured for the meeting will be a breeder of
Anatolian shepherds, raffle items, and all the news about NMAB.

Alpacas de Santa Fe is hosting an Advanced Alpaca Fiber
Clinic with Amanda VandenBosch Labor Day Weekend. Three day intensive
clinic for breeders. Topics to be covered include: Assessment of fiber
characteristics and relationship to end product; learn to measure fiber
traits, collect data and interpret to make informed decisions; judging
criteria and scoring; assessing your show ring and fleece entries; genetics
considerations in fiber production, evaluating your animal�s fiber to
make sound breeding decisions; fiber options in today�s market. Friday�s
class will be a review of fiber characteristics, understanding histograms,
and conformational considerations. Saturday and Sunday will be more advanced
subject matter. The clinic goal is for each participant to: Confidently
recognize and assess alpaca fiber characteristics; Be confident in preparing
your fleeces for show and sale; Understand how to measure traits and evaluate
the influences that affect that outcome; Use accurate data in your selection
and breeding decisions You will learn to expertly breed for the best,
marketable fiber and success in today�s competitive market. $395 per person
includes class material and lunches.

Industry Issues, and Time To Get Your Questions and Concerns Addressed.

Clinic with Dr. Norman Evans. Join us for this valuable opportunity to
learn about alpaca health issues and nutrition from the one of top experts
in the U.S., Dr. Norman Evans. This two clinic will provide you with the
skills to evaluate your nutrition program, enhance your knowledge of diseases
and health problems of alpacas, and learn more about reproductive problems
